Your ex controlled the finances

Divorce is life-changing and brings financial stress. The emotional toll, coupled with uncertainty about your financial future, can feel overwhelming.

The women I advise have never dealt with the finances before, their ex has always done that.

Some of them have been told by their ex that “there’s no need to get lawyers involved”, and that their ex has done the calculations on how to split everything up.

They want an expert on their side to get them up to speed, without the jargon. They want to make sure they are not making a mistake that will be detrimental for future them.

Where do I even begin? What’s a Form E?

You may face tough decisions on dividing assets, managing debt, and adjusting to a new lifestyle, all while fearing costly mistakes and not knowing where to start.

You have been told about needing to complete a Form E, and don’t know what is.

Divorce brings a flood of emotions—and financial questions that can feel impossible to answer:

  • “Will I be OK financially after the divorce?”

  • “How do I protect my assets and plan for the future?”

  • “What should I be asking for in the settlement?”

  • “Am I making the right choices for myself and my children?”

It’s common to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, and afraid of making costly mistakes. I’m here to help you with divorce financial advice in Liverpool.

The stakes are high

The financial decisions you make during a divorce will impact your future for years to come:

  • You might not realise the full value of what you’re entitled to.

  • Failing to plan could leave you financially vulnerable or unable to maintain the lifestyle you want.

  • Without expert advice, you could overlook important considerations like retirement provisions, property, or tax implications.

The truth is: This is your opportunity to protect your future self.

  • When you are going through your divorce, meetings and check ins every 6-8 weeks works well to make sure you can get up to speed on your finances, especially if your ex has previously been the one that has dealt with the money.

I am on the other side of the phone as your wealth wingwoman throughout the process.

After the finances have been separated, we will continue to have regular meetings, at least annually. Your life is not static, neither are market conditions. It is important to review your financial plan and make adjustments if needed.
